Samsung has unveiled a wireless charging mat that works with three separate devices. The company launched the product at the Life Unstoppable virtual event yesterday (September 2) but has not revealed any information regarding the full specifications or availability details.
As the naming implies, the Trio can top off three of Samsung’s wireless charging-capable devices at once, and Samsung demonstrates this with press renders depicting the bronze Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Buds Live, and Watch 3 devices.
Each spot on the wireless charging pad has its own LED so you can see how charging is going and rather than allowing you to position your devices anywhere you like atop the Wireless Charger Trio’s surface, there are delineated positions for each to sit on.
The man surface has room for two items – such as your phone and a set of wireless earbuds in their charging case, like the Galaxy Buds Live for example. The third is for a Samsung compatible watch.
“With technology now working harder than ever before, Samsung also recognised a need for a new charging station that can power up more of your devices simultaneously, a Samsung spokesperson stated..
“Wireless Charger Trio is a brand-new wireless charging solution designed to charge compatible devices all at once, offering everyday convenience and ease.”
Samsung hasn’t said how fast it’ll charge at this point, either. The old Wireless Charger Duo pad was capable of 12W of wireless charging, device-depending. The new Galaxy Note20 Ultra, however, can handle up to 15W of wireless fast charging with a compatible pad, so we would expect Samsung has upgraded its system to suit.
Its design is pretty simplistic – one Maxi Pad with elliptical sides, supplied with power via a USB-C port, and it is able to output at least the 15W that Samsung’s newest Qi-enabled devices are able to take, and will be available in a shortly while for € 99.
