Glasgow and Hamilton are the latest places to receive a 5G network from EE. 5G technology is the next generation of mobile network and is expected to offer internet speeds several times faster than that of current-generation 4G.
EE said it has launched 5G in Castlereagh, Guildford, Hamilton, Harlow, Hoddesdon, Kimberley, Lisburn, Maidstone, Sydenham, Watford and Wolverhampton.
Marc Allera, CEO of EE owner BT’s consumer division, said:

RootMetrics’ early 5G testing shows that we are a long way ahead in terms of 5G performance, and our engineers are continuing to build new sites every day, on our journey to keeping our customers connected 100% of the time.”

EE was the first network in the UK to launch 5G, when it switched on its next generation networks in May 2019. EE plans to deliver 5G to a further six cities by the end of this year. According to EE, Newcastle, Liverpool, Leeds, Hull, Sheffield and Nottingham should all receive 5G connectivity in 2019.
