Essar Group selects BlackBerry’s BES12 to securely manage their data, applications, and devices

Essar Group has selected BES12 to securely manage their data, applications, and devices including iOS, Android, and BlackBerry smartphones.

Essar Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate with investments in the sectors of steel, energy (oil & gas and power), infrastructure (ports, projects & concessions) and services (shipping, telecom, realty and outsourcing and technology solutions). With operations in more than 25 countries across five continents, Essar employs over 73,000 people and has revenues of $39 billion.

The latest iteration of BlackBerry Enterprise Server 12, v12.2 offers expanded multi-OS capabilities and now provides support for Samsung KNOX Workspace and Android for Work smartphones and tablets, and has integrated these platforms with BlackBerry Secure Connect Plus for secure, behind-the-firewall access to enterprise content without the need for VPN infrastructure. The latest version also includes support for the Apple Device Enrollment Program (DEP) for iPhones and iPads.

BES12 centralises device management from a single command and control center, and supports multiple mobile platforms, including iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry devices.

Jayantha Prabhu, Chief Technology Officer, Essar Group said,

“Our BYOD policy allows our employees to choose the device that meets their needs, and we implemented BES12 to deliver this flexibility without sacrificing security,”

“We’re seeing a tremendous number of users bringing Android or iOS devices into the environment, along with our BlackBerry 10 smartphone deployment. With BES12, we don’t have to worry about the security of the data on the devices our employees choose. We can provide our users with the mobile device experience that best suits their needs and simplify our EMM, with the peace of mind that our corporate data remains secure,”

Essar Group is also trialing BES12 Cloud for even greater scalability and flexibility. Additionally, the organisation is testing a range of value-added solutions such as BBM Meetings and BBM Protected as their workforce becomes more mobilised.
