Apple Far Out Event

Apple has confirmed that their next special event, expected to see the launch of the iPhone 14 series and Apple Watch 8 series, will take place on September 7, 2022.

The company’s invite, which is always closely scrutinized for hidden meanings, features the night sky in the shape of the Apple logo and the tag line: “Far out.”.

The event is set to be broadcast on Apple’s website from Apple Park, the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California. Apple is also inviting the media to watch the launch at its campus.

In terms of the iPhone 14 series, the line-up this year is expected to consist of the vanilla iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and the top-of-the-line iPhone 14 Pro Max.

While the iPhone 14 and 14 Max are expected to retain some iPhone 13 hardware, the Pro and Pro Max models are expected to offer a generational upgrade, both in terms of design and components..

They’re expected to ditch the notch in favour of a punch-hole design, as well as ship with the all-new A16 Bionic processor and higher-resolution cameras, among other notable changes.

As for the Watch Series 8, it is expected to be first Apple Watch to ship with skin temperature measurement that will help in fever tracking.

Another notable change will be the expected introduction of a rugged smartwatch that will reportedly feature a larger screen and a metal casing to better withstand rough use.

Apple’s rugged watch will be aimed at the outdoorsy types, and is expected to be used mostly by hikers, cross-country runners, and other extreme athletes.
