Nothing, launching its very first smartphone called the Nothing phone 1, will officially launch on July 12 and will be an exclusive to O2 in the UK.
The company will hold a “Return to Instinct” event on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 4pm GMT, where it will officially announce the Phone 1.
The phone will initially only be available through an invite system, which will apparently allow Nothing to make sure that the first people to get the Phone (1) are “in the community”, and the “people who deserve it the most.”
How this fits in with O2’s plans will be revealed at the launch event.
You have until 11 July to sign up to the public waitlist on the Nothing site. You’ll then be able to see your position in the queue.
While the Nothing 1 is known to be a mid-range device, specs on the device are scarce but rumoured to include a 120Hz OLED display, a Snapdragon 778G+ SoC, and 8GB of RAM. The phone will be powered by a 4500mAh battery, and will support 45W fast charging.
Nothing 1 is rumoured to come with a dual-sensor camera system comprised of a 50MP wide and a 16MP ultra-wide, with a 16MP camera around front.
