Apple has released iOS 26.5.2, bringing a bunch of security fixes.
iOS 26.5.2 contains more than a dozen elements relating to WebKit, the web browser engine. These multiple WebKit vulnerabilities could allow malicious web content to cause crashes, disclose sensitive information, exfiltrate data, or even escape the sandbox in some cases.
The vulnerabilities address issues such as apps causing system termination, malicious web content leading to crashes or other issues such as memory corruption or hijacking of clipboard data.
There are three fixes for the Kernel, the engine that underpins the operating system. The Kernel improvements prevent unexpected terminations, memory corruption, and information leaks.
There are also fixes for graphics (IOGPUFamily) and libxslt processing issues.
Interestingly, the security updates here were not originally planned to be happen now, but were due to be released when iOS 26.6 goes on general release in a few weeks. However, Apple has confirmed that it has come early in a response to AI-driven security concerns.
