Digital ticketing pioneer continues to bring new capabilities to millions of sports and entertainment fans
Tickets.com, provider of state-of-the-art technology solutions to more than 1,000 sports and entertainment clients around the world, has announced integration with Apple Pay, delivering a new category of service where its clients’ millions of patrons can make easy, secure and private mobile payments from their iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus.
This development will leverage the ProVenue ticketing platform, a proprietary technology solution built by Tickets.com. Through a hosted, open architecture, ProVenue empowers venue clients with reliable and scalable ticket purchasing solutions delivered through fully integrated and customizable end-to-end services.
Through supported mobile apps, such as a forthcoming Tickets.com app, fans will be able to purchase tickets quickly and securely from their iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus using Touch ID, delivering convenience to the ticket-buying process.
Apple Pay is set to debut this October when Tickets.com will offer the mobile payment option in apps for its participating venue clients and their customers.
“We’re thrilled to again work closely with Apple as one of the first to implement Apple Pay,” said Joe Choti, CEO, Tickets.com.
“With Apple Pay, millions of patrons will be able to check out with a single touch, making for a seamless, secure and convenient user experience.”
This marks the third straight year Tickets.com has introduced technology to streamline the way patrons choose, purchase and store digital tickets on their mobile devices. In September 2012, Tickets.com was the first ticketing provider to deliver Passbook support to sports fans and last year introduced MyTickets Mobile for a dozen MLB clubs, the first time season-ticket holders of any professional sports league could retrieve their tickets in a mobile application.
