Lenovo announced today the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT, the first phone to come with 12GB and the first to sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC.
For those who don’t want to go for all that memory, there are two other memory configurations available. These include 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM and 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM.
Earlier this month, Qualcomm launched its first 7nm chipset called the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. Lenovo Z5 Pro GT is the first device with the flagship chipset. On the chipset, there are three clusters of CPU cores totalling eight — these cores clock at a max of 2.84GHz.
Additionally, Qualcomm’s 4th-gen multi-core AI engine fine-tunes the AI performance on the smartphone.
The phone also features ultrasonic fingerprint recognition thanks to the chip’s 3D sonic sensor support. The sensor is found below the phone’s screen, under the display.
When it omes to the camera, there are four on the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT. Two of these are found at the top central area of the phone’s carbon fibre-designed rear. Both cameras are equipped with 16MP and 24MP sensors as well as dual-LED flash.
To reveal the other two cameras, the phone needs to be slid lightly. The light push will show forth the 16MP and 8MP selfie cameras at the top. Besides, there’s an infrared close to the cameras for face recognition.
Removing the cameras from the screen led to 95.06% being churned out as the screen-to-body ratio. That leaves the phone’s 6.39″ Super AMOLED screen. The screen’s resolution is 1080 x 2340 pixels.
Android Pie together with ZUI 10.0 runs the software actions on the phone and keeping the lights on is a 3,350mAh battery. Connectivity-wise, Bluetooth 5.0, WLAN, USB-C, NFC and GPS are all on board.
Lenovo Z5 Pro GT launches in China on January 24th with the device being up for pre-order starting on the 15th. The phone will officially ship out on January 24, 2019 and is available in Carbon Black colour.
Pricing is as follows:
