Google has a new mode of storage encryption called Adiantum that is made specifically to run on phones and smart devices that don’t have the specialised hardware to use current methods to encrypt locally stored data efficiently.
Lawsuit
An Android app developer has sued Google for allegedly anti-competitive and unlawful practices related to its Google Play app store, and attorneys say its behaviour – which gives rise to U.S. Android developers having to pay it exorbitant fees – constitutes violation of federal antitrust laws, according to Hagens Berman.
Google has today announced Android P, which won’t get a real name or version number at the moment due to the fact that this is an early baseline build for developers only. Like Android Oreo, the P release doesn’t come with a lot of major feature additions. There are several notable additions, and then a massive number of small tweaks and API changes for developers.
Android Pay
Google has continued the expansion of Android Pay, as the company launched its mobile payments system in Belgium. Users will be able to pay at over 85,000 retail locations with Android Pay, including Carrefour, McDonald's, Media Markt, H&M, and more.
After months of beta releases, Android 9 has been officially released to the public today, and as highly predicted, the name is Pie. Android 9 Pie boasts a machine learning-powered system to save battery power, a new gesture-based navigation tool and features to track how much time you spend on your phone.
Earlier, Apple revoked Facebook's iOS enterprise developer certificate for violating its Terms of Service, and Apple is now giving the same treatment to Google.  Apple has shut down Google's internal iOS apps for doing the exact same thing Facebook was doing—distributing enterprise apps outside of the company.

BlackBerry
BlackBerry Priv, the first Android-powered smartphone by BlackBerry, is now available in India. BlackBerry India Managing Director Narendra Nayak and Damian Tay ‎Senior Director, Asia-Pacific Product Management at BlackBerry introduced the smartphone at an event held in New Delhi.
