Babble acquires DCS and Halo

Acquisitions continues Babble’s outstanding growth over the last 24 months

Unified Comms, Contact Centre and Cyber Solutions provider, Babble, has acquired Digital Communications Systems Ltd (DCS) and Halo Communications Ltd (Halo) , continuing Babble’s strategy of building a national brand with local presence.

Having completed nine acquisitions in the last 12 months, Babble now has a presence across the South Coast, the North-West, the North-East and in Scotland, in addition to the Midlands and London. Babble also continues to see success in its organic growth strategy, with bookings 90% ahead of 2020.

DCS, based in Newcastle, has been a leader in service-led delivery of managed networked services since 1992. Bringing together a broad portfolio of partners and services, the acquisition will further develop Babble’s presence in the North-East of England.

Halo Communications offers voice, data and IT services to small and medium businesses across the UK from its office based in Kilmarnock. The acquisition further strengthens Babble’s presence in Scotland, following the recent acquisition of 8020 in Dumfries.

Matthew Parker, Chief Executive of Babble, said:

“In recent months we’ve focused our growth towards the North of England and Scotland. There is outstanding technology talent in these regions, and in Halo Communications and DCS we’ve acquired two business that align perfectly with our goals and ambitions. We’re looking forward to the road ahead, delivering transformational change to even more highly valued customers.”

Babble now has over 4,000 customers with 25,000 UCaaS, 34,000 mobile and 4,000 CCaaS users, as well as an expanding Cyber, IT and MSP customer base. The business has offices across the UK – with more than 200 staff located nationwide.

The business supports organisations across a broad range of sectors – including financial, health and education, travel and accommodation, and public services – by sourcing, deploying and supporting locally the very best cloud solutions to deliver increased efficiency, customer engagement and profitability, whilst protecting customers’ businesses.

Brendan Mulvenna, Managing Director of DCS, said:

“I’m thrilled with the position that DCS has reached since forming in 1992. The acquisition by Babble is an exciting next step for the business and I look forward to playing my part in Babble’s ambitious plans to be a leading player in the North-East.”

Babble’s growth over the last few years is one of the big success stories in its industry. This is demonstrated by the private equity investment of Graphite Capital in November 2020 – which was supported by reinvestment from LDC and management – to accelerate the buy and build strategy for the business. Annual revenue has rapidly grown to £40m – over 90% of which is recurring.

Babble offers three core solutions to businesses: Babble Comms drives efficiencies through cost saving and productivity improvements; Babble Contact – which has been named as Five9’s EMEA Partner of Year for two consecutive years – increases customer engagement by enabling high quality, positive, productive and ultimately more profitable conversations with customers; and Babble Cyber embeds business resilience by delivering the best cloud-based tools and security available, allowing teams to work the way they want to work.
