Cellhire wins Best Mobile/IoT Customer Solution award at Comms National Awards 2021

Award recognises Cellhire for its connectivity solution for the ongoing nationwide NHS Covid-19 vaccination programme

UK mobile telecoms specialist Cellhire has won the Best Mobile/IoT Customer Solution award at the Comms National Awards 2021, held 7th October in Mayfair, London.

In addition to winning the award, Cellhire achieved finalist status for Best Wholesale Service Provider (Above £10M) and Best Enterprise Managed Service Customer Solution.

The award recognises the company for its connectivity solution for the ongoing nationwide NHS Covid-19 vaccination programme. The programme has seen Cellhire provide multi-network UK mobile data connections to more than 2100 Covid-19 NHS England vaccination sites, enabling them to update patient records in real-time.  The number of sites continues to grow with the current booster programme.

Cellhire’s solution comprises state-of-the-art Peplink mobile routers coupled with high-speed secure mobile data, enabling large numbers of devices to connect to a network utilising the latest WiFi technology.

Allowing for rapid deployment and remote visibility of devices, the solution includes “inControl2”, a smart remote management application that is pre-configured and ready to use, making life simpler for all the users. Built with contingency in mind, the routers are equipped with the ability to switch to a failover network if the primary network is unavailable.

Cellhire UK MD Matt Bennett with the Best Mobile/IoT Customer Solution award last night

Cellhire UK Managing Director, Matt Bennett says

“I am extremely proud of the Cellhire team and the success Cellhire has achieved at the Comms National Awards.

“COVID-19 has been the single greatest public health emergency in the history of the NHS and it’s a great honour for Cellhire to be part of the backbone of the vaccine programme. The solutions that we are providing are helping to manage the vaccination of millions of people as quickly as possible.

“The ability Cellhire has to deliver multi-network secure mobile data, quickly and at scale, is thanks to its strong global network partnerships and its robust and resilient team.”

In its 20th year, the Comms National Awards remains one of the ICT channel’s most respected and coveted awards. The awards are independently judged by a panel of industry experts who recognise quality across the channel spectrum by assessing awards in both reseller and vendor categories.

Cellhire is keen to expand its partnerships in the channel and are actively seeking additional resellers for their partner programme.

“As a direct partner of Vodafone, O2 and EE, Cellhire is keen to expand its partnerships in the channel and to that end we are actively seeking additional resellers for our partner programme,” says Bennett.

“These resellers would typically want a comms partner with a track record in providing voice, data and IoT via multiple direct network solutions that are competitive, flexible and innovative and all supported by our market-leading portal.”

Cellhire provided NHS England with managed mobile data solutions delivering connectivity to more than 2100 vaccination sites throughout England, as they were being identified and set up in real-time. This dynamic project was one of the most important customer requirements Cellhire has ever been involved in.

In addition, Cellhire is in the process of providing connectivity to an additional 600+ new NHS vaccination sites for the UK booster programme.

Working around-the-clock, including over the Christmas and New Year period, the collaboration from both Cellhire and its partners delivered the connectivity and technical hardware solution required by each vaccination site announced by the UK government. This vital connectivity helped ensure that the NHS were able to deliver a large-scale vaccination programme without significantly impacting on other key services.
