Samsung releases Tizen SDK for Wearables

Samsung has released an SDK for Wearables.

The Tizen SDK for Wearable is a comprehensive set of tools for developing Samsung Gear applications. It consists of the Tizen Wearable IDE, Emulator, tool-chain, sample applications, and documentation.

The SDK is a public release, allowing anyone to make a Gear app. The Gear will need apps, too, because thanks to the switch to Tizen, the app pool is starting over from scratch.

The Tizen wearables SDK includes settings for two of the three new Samsung wearables that will be running Tizen. The SDK supports the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo, but not the Gear Fit.

The documentation can be viewed here. The SDK, which supports Windows, Mac OS, and Linux, can be downloaded from here.[signoff predefined=”Enjoy this?” icon=”icon-users”][/signoff]
