Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) is an NHS Wales organisation in south Wales, who hold the distinction of being the first NHS organisation to be fined under the Data Protection Act. In April 2012 it was fined £70,000 for breaching patient confidentiality after it released sensitive data about a patient to the wrong person.
While the mistake was down to human error, it means that the Health Board really have to ensure that their mobility solution is ultra-secure, and that is a challenge that resulted in only one solution, BlackBerry.
ABUHB has risen above these challenges to deliver a truly mobile environment with BES10 that ensures patient confidentiality is secure.
Supporting both Corporately Owned Privately Enabled (COPE) devices and a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy, ABUHB still maintains their lowest total cost of ownership with BES10.
In addition BlackBerry 10 and BES10 have helped to increase productivity and user satisfaction by allowing secure access to shared drives and applications such as BBM.[signoff predefined=”Enjoy this?” icon=”icon-users”][/signoff]
