Back in October,  Huawei launched its foldable Mate X smartphone and the device is now available to buy in China. The Mate X, which unfolds to 5.8 inches wide, went on sale Friday on Huawei´s online store in China priced at 16,999 yuan (£1,900 / $2,422). Those who did not manage to buy a Mate X on Friday will get another chance on 22 November when a second batch will go on sale.

US technology companies will be allowed to continue selling to Huawei under certain circumstances, after the US commerce secretary extended a second temporary 90-day reprieve. Wilbur Ross on Monday said the Trump administration would extend a temporary licence for companies to sell to the Chinese company if they are selling repairs or updates to existing systems.
During a press event on Wednesday, Huawei said it has pushed back the release of its foldable Mate X smartphone to November. However, this is in line with statements by the company's director of consumer business mobile phones He Gang who, back in July, stated that Huawei is still optimising the foldable Mate X smartphone and will  not release it without meeting quality requirements.

Vodafone is to launch their 5G service in seven cities across the United Kingdom on July 3 at current pricing levels. The operator says it will also offer 5G roaming in Germany, Italy, and Spain later in the summer.
EE will be testing a 5G-powered WiFi at Glastonbury this summer. It will be the first time this technology is used at a UK festival and comes ahead of it being rolled out to other cities and events later this year.

Apple finally announced its own premium video streaming service. Called Apple TV+, the service will offer Apple’s original programming in a redesigned Apple TV app. The Apple TV app will also be available across a range of smart TVs and platforms like Sony, LG, Samsung and even on Amazon FireTV stick and Roku devices.

Apple launched a credit card at the “Show Time” event called Apple Card. It’s an actual titanium-based MasterCard credit card made in partnership with Goldman Sachs. The card has no late fees, annual fees, over limit fees, and international fees. The card will have your name etched with laser on the card.

Apple has announced its Apple News Plus service, which integrates magazines with its Apple News service. The new service will feature over 300 magazines like National Geographic, Men’s Health, Vogue and others.
The never-ending mess of Apple and Qualcomm legal disputes continued today.  While a court in California was awarding Qualcomm $31 million in damages against Apple, a Federal court in the US was ruling that Qualcomm owes Apple nearly a billion dollars, or £754 million from previous payment agreements.
