BlackBerry has rolled out a BlackBerry UEM 12.10 Maintenance Release 1. OpenJDK 8-based builds that are compatible with Java SE 8 are now supported as an alternative to using Oracle JDK 8. These builds and support are available from vendors such as Azul Systems (Zulu) or AdoptOpenJDK.
Apple is now requiring all developers to use the company's two-factor authentication protocol to protect their Apple IDs. Apple has required new Apple Developer Program signups to have two-factor authentication enabled for a while now and this change is now being brought to all existing developer accounts.
In the United States, AT&T has been creating a lot of controversy for its 5G Evolution (5G E) naming, which is the company’s consumer-facing name for LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) technology. 5G E in essence is an extension of existing 4G LTE technology and is not in fact true 5G.
iOS 12
Apple has released the second iOS 12.2 public beta for iPhone and iPad. Members of Apple's Beta Software Program can download the previews now and register devices now. If you have already installed iOS 12.2 public beta 1, then you can simply update using your iPhone in the normal manner.
A new report highlights another shady Facebook policy that was paying people to install an app called the Facebook Research VPN. Facebook allegedly paid users to install the VPN, which allowed the company to collect all the user's phone and web activity at all times.
Apple gained 3.6% on Q1 2019 results that beat EPS and revenue estimates with revenue down 5% Y/Y. The downsides in iPhone and China were largely priced into the quarter following Apple's outlook cut earlier this month.

Apple has released iOS 12.1.3 for iPhone and iPad bringing bug fixes and improving performance of existing functions, with no major changes to existing features. This update fixes an issue in Messages that could impact scrolling through photos in the Details view Addresses an issue where photos could have striped artifacts after being sent from the Share Sheet.
HomePod White
Apple has launched the Apple HomePod in mainland China and Hong Kong markets.  The promotional material highlighted regional tweaks to Siri including recognition of queries for music genres "Mandopop" and "Cantopop," which will trigger playback of custom radio stations in Apple Music.
Qualcomm
A German court has ruled that Apple didn't infringe on a Qualcomm hardware patent, declaring that the iPhone isn't violating any of Qualcomm's power management patents. The judge ruled the suit in question groundless, declaring that Apple's iPhone wasn't standing in violation in an initial verbal ruling. A full filing with rationale is expected in the future.
