NHS Covid-19 App
After months of delays, the NHS has finally launched its official contact tracing app in England and Wales. The NHS Covid-19 app will ask users who have been near someone with a positive coronavirus test result to self-isolate for fourteen days.

A US judge has blocked Donald Trump's executive order banning WeChat in the United States. In issuing the preliminary injunction, Judge Laurel Beeler wrote that the plaintiffs, a group of US-based WeChat users, had shown "serious questions" in their claim that the executive order threatens the users' First Amendment rights.
TikTok
The U.S. Department of Commerce announced Friday morning that downloads of video app TikTok and messaging app WeChat will be banned in the U.S. from Sunday (Sept 20). If a deal is not struck by 12 November, the app will be fully banned, and using as well as downloading the app will be illegal.
Amazon Music Podcasts
Amazon Music has launched podcasts in the U.K., U.S., Germany, and Japan, across all tiers of service at no additional cost. For the first time, customers will be able to stream top podcasts they already know and love, as well as new, original shows produced exclusively for Amazon Music and hosted by creators
Protect Scotland App
Smartphone users across Scotland are being urged to download NHS Scotland’s new contact tracing app - Protect Scotland - to help suppress the spread of COVID-19. Supported by a dedicated Protect Scotland website, the app is an extra tool complementing existing person-to-person contact tracing.

TikTok
Tiktok has signed up to the EU’s code of conduct on hate speech today, as it struggles to contain the spread of a suicide video on its platform. The video, which shows a person committing suicide, has been circulating on the app since Sunday night.
