Nokia 2.2 launched in India

HMD Global has launched its latest Android One smartphone in India, the Nokia 2.2. It comes with dual SIM slots and microSD card slot and houses a dedicated Google Assistant button.

The phone runs on Android One 9.0 Pie OS, has a 3000 mAh battery, packed inside phone dimensions of 145.96 x 70.56 x 9.3 mm with total of 153 grams weight.

The Nokia 2.2 Specifications include 5.71-inch TFT LCD multi-touch display with 1520 x 720 pixels resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is 2GHz quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 processor with IMG PowerVR GE class GPU.

The smartphone comes in options of 2GB RAM with 16GB ROM and 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage. The device also allows further expansion up to 400GB using MicroSD card. The device comes in Tungsten Black and Steel colours.

The Nokia 2.2 is available for ₹6,999 ($100) for the variant with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, and there’s a 3GB/32GB model that’ll be available for ₹7,999 ($115).

This is an introductory price that will be valid until the end of June, following which the 2GB/16GB edition will cost ₹7,699 ($110) and the 3GB/32GB model will cost ₹8,699 ($125).

The Nokia 2.2 comes with guaranteed monthly security updates for three years and two platform updates, with HMD stating that the device is ready for Android Q.

The phone will be available on June 11, and there’s no word on whether it will be making its way to other markets.
