EE is now allowing more services to be streamed without eating into users’ monthly data allowances. From today, anyone with a Video Data Pass can stream and download anything from the BBC iPlayer and YouTube without fear of running out of internet access.
Both platforms join Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, BT Sport, TV Player and MTV Play which are all part of EE’s video plan.
EE says its Video Data Pass is available with its new smart plans, as either an inclusive Swappable benefit for EE 4G and 5G Smart Plan customers or for purchase as a standalone Pass for an extra £8.99 per month.
Other Swappable Benefits include Music Data Pass, for free music streaming over data; BT Sport App, for on demand sport; Roam Further Pass, for UK plan allowance while in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia and New Zealand; and Upgrade Anytime, which does as it sounds and applies to higher or lower plan changes on a monthly basis.
All these benefits can be swapped out by using the My EE app or online.
The news of this data boost comes as EE has just announced the official launch of 5G. Customers can now use this super fast service which offers download speeds of over 300Mbps
Along with being much quicker, 5G should bring a far more reliable connection with extra people able to access fast data at the same time. Those who fancy giving 5G a try can currently find EE’s signal available in parts of London, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Belfast, Birmingham and Manchester.
More areas will be added over time with the network confirming that it’s rolling out more than 100 new 5G sites every month. Bristol, Coventry, Leicester, Nottingham, Sheffield, Liverpool, Hull, Leeds, Newcastle and Glasgow are all set for this new network soon.
