As BlackBerry celebrates its 35th birthday today, touting "35 years of innovation", BlackBerry CEO John Chen said the new foldable phones from Samsung, Huawei and others are just not innovative or particularly useful.
Huawei has unveiled the Mate X, a luxury 5G phone with a folding screen. the Mate X is a strikingly attractive device that will give owners three screens effectively. When folded, it has a 6.6-inch 2480 x 1148 resolution main screen, a 6.38-inch screen on the rear and when it’s unfolded the Mate X transforms into a stunningly immersive 8-inch tablet with a 2480 x 2200 resolution display.
Samsung today unveiled their much anticipated foldable smartphone - the Galaxy Fold, which opens up to create a 7.3in (18.5cm) tablet-like display able to run up to three apps at once. The outer display is a 4.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED panel with a 21:9 aspect ratio. The inner/main display of the Galaxy Fold is a large 7.3-inch QXGA+ Dyanic AMOLED canvas with a form factor of 4.2:3.
