Amazon says that by embedding AWS compute and storage services at the edge of 5G networks, “AWS Wavelength enables software developers to serve edge computing use cases like machine learning, Internet of Things (IoT), and video and game streaming.”
In the United States, AT&T has been creating a lot of controversy for its 5G Evolution (5G E) naming, which is the company’s consumer-facing name for LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) technology. 5G E in essence is an extension of existing 4G LTE technology and is not in fact true 5G.

EE won 80MHz overall of the 700MHz and 3.6GHz bands that were on offer in the auction.

EE will be testing a 5G-powered WiFi at Glastonbury this summer. It will be the first time this technology is used at a UK festival and comes ahead of it being rolled out to other cities and events later this year.
The fallout from the United States ban on Huawei is now having its first major effect on upcoming smartphones from the Chinese company in the UK.
