Samsung
Samsung today unveiled a new radio designed to help mobile operators overcome the challenges they face in deploying 5G networks. Announced at “Samsung Networks: Redefined,” the new One Antenna Radio features integrated antennas, providing operators with the ability to simplify and speed up 5G installations by consolidating a 3.5GHz Massive MIMO radio with low-band and mid-band passive antennas into a single form factor.
Three UK
Three has announced it will launch its 5G network in August, but it will only be available in London as a home broadband service. Three 5G home broadband customers will be able to plug a hub into the wall to immediately become connected, without lengthy engineer wait times or a long-term contract.
EE has launched its 5G mobile broadband plans, making it the first UK carrier to do so. The company isn't pitching its latest 5G offering as a replacement for home broadband but that is likely due to the fact that 5G availability is limited at the moment.
GSMA
Huawei's 5G wireless and core network equipment (5G RAN gNodeB, 5G Core UDG,UDM,UNC,UPCF) and LTE eNodeB has passed the GSMA’s Network Equipment Security Assurance Scheme (NESAS). GSMA NESAS boosts the industry's confidence in telecom network equipment, making it a practical choice for the industry and an important consideration for all regional markets, to jointly promote the development of more aligned mobile communications market.
Telenor confirmed has chosen Sweden’s Ericsson as the key technology provider for its fifth-generation (5G) telecoms network in Norway. Over the last ten years Telenor has used Huawei equipment for its 4G network, but that equipment from the Chinese company will be gradually phased out.
