EE has switched on 5G in twelve new UK locations, taking the number of towns and cities with access to the operator’s 5G network to 112. The firm’s new data network is now available in Aberdeen, Aldershot, Barrhead, Blackpool, Castleford, Crawley, Mirfield, Oxford, Porthcawl, Shipley, Stafford and Warwick.

Sony Xperia 5 II, the company's second 5G enabled smartphone, is now available from O2 online and over the phone. Customers can also purchase Sony Xperia 5 II in-store from Thursday 15th October.

IMImobile has been named as a supplier on Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) G-Cloud framework, for its full suite of products. G-Cloud is a CCS procurement framework that enables public sector organisations to search, evaluate and procure cloud services from select suppliers. G-Cloud 12 went live this month.

Lenovo unveiled the Lenovo Yoga 5G, the world’s first 5G PC, back in January of this year. This 5G PC will be available later this year exclusively on a range of EE pay monthly price plans.
EE NHS Offer
EE is continuing to offer unlimited data to NHS workers until 31st January 2021, as local lockdowns increase and Covid-19 pressures remain. The offer, originally due to end on 9th October 2020, has now been extended for EE customers into the New Year.

NHS Covid-19 App
After months of delays, the NHS has finally launched its official contact tracing app in England and Wales. The NHS Covid-19 app will ask users who have been near someone with a positive coronavirus test result to self-isolate for fourteen days.

Dixons-Carphone
EE is the latest carrier to cut ties with Dixons Carphone, withdrawing its tariffs from the retailer and leaving Vodafone, Voxi and Virgin Media as Dixons Carphone’s remaining network partners, while the company also has its own ‘iD’ MVNO, powered by Three’s infrastructure.
Asda Mobile
Vodafone has been selected by Asda as the new network for its Asda Mobile MVNO. In a five-year exclusive deal, Asda Mobile customers will benefit from Vodafone’s 4G and 5G coverage, unlimited mobile data plans, Wi-Fi calling and other benefits, such as family discounts.
Google Pixel 4a
Google launched the Pixel 4a back in August, and the mid-range smartphone is is now available to pre-order on O2, ahead of it going on sale on 1st October. The Pixel 4a has a 4.5% bigger screen than its predecessor but its body is 5.8% smaller overall. At only 144mm in length, 69.4mm in width, 8.8mm in thickness and weighing 143g, the Pixel 4a is one of the smallest phones you can buy in 2020.
