Google announces partners to roll out Android 8 Oreo by end of year

Google has announced that the following partners will be rolling out Android 8 Oreo by the end of the year.

  • HMD Global (Nokia Phones)
  • Huawei
  • HTC
  • Kyocera
  • LG
  • Motorola
  • Samsung
  • Sharp
  • Sony

The company announced Android 8.0 Oreo yesterday and promptly released the system images.

Google stated,

We’ve also been working closely with our partners, and by the end of this year, hardware makers including Essential, General Mobile, HMD Global Home of Nokia Phones, Huawei, HTC, Kyocera, LG, Motorola, Samsung, Sharp and Sony are scheduled to launch or upgrade devices to Android 8.0 Oreo.

The fact that Google is naming specific partners is new and interesting.
